FBCM contracts with the Michigan Department of Education to distribute USDA commodity items to member food banks each year.

TEFAP provides shelf stable food items to supplement the diets of low income Michiganders. This program is coordinated through Food Bank Council of Michigan and distributes about 16 million pounds of food through our 7 member food banks, to all 83 counties of the state.  This program is made possible by a partnership with Michigan Department of Education (MDE).  To view MDE's non-discrimination policy, click here.
